This vase is from a small group of ceramics that were made with raised high-relief figures, mostly monkeys and sometimes with other animals.
This particular vase has monkeys sitting on Lilly pads with baby monkeys wearing kimonos, small monkeys playing with crabs, another monkey eating grapes, another monkey playing with snake, another monkey playing with wasp nest, a lizard, a frog, monkey holding a lizard.
The neck is raised with a cinnabar red colored glaze to design. signed at underside with two rows of characters, Height 14 inches Diameter 10.5 inches.

Condition
Overall good condition with few small losses, part of a leaf, small grapes, small section of frog leg.
