Provenance & Authentication This exceptional mid-18th-century cabinet is the work of the celebrated master cabinetmaker Pierre Denizot (French, 1715–1782; maître in 1740). Denizot was a favored craftsman for the French Royal Household, notably supplying fine furniture to the Count of Artois and the Count of Provence.

The piece is dual-stamped "P. Denizot" and "JME" (Jurande Menuisiers-Ébénistes) beneath the marble top at the back left corner. The JME mark served as a 250-year-old "Certificate of Quality," signifying the piece was inspected and approved by the Parisian guild committee.
